An Inspiring Collection of Trees where Every Tree has It’s Own Unique Story.

Pinetum Peace is our Long Term Vision with it’s Roots Already Firmly Established.

We Started our Collection in 2011 when we bought a Scots Pine Tree to Celebrate our Anniversary. Since then we have been Collecting Tree Saplings from many places including some Very Special Places in Scotland, including Balmoral Castle, Scone Palace, Culzean Castle as well as Places that are less known but still Very Beautiful and Important.

From 1 Single Tree in 2011 we have formed a Collection of around 100 Trees. They range in size from about a few inches to our tallest at about 13 foot tall.

Our Vision is to Plant a Peaceful Pinetum within the Grounds of Pure Joy Retreat where people can Leisurely Enjoy the Beauty of the Trees as well as being Inspired by the Trees Individual Stories.

Over the years we have Observed how the Trees Grow and How they have Adapted to Challenging Conditions. We have been Fascinated by the things we have Learned from these Trees.

One of the Trees when it was only about 18 inches tall had the very Top of its Trunk broken off by accident. It gradually Pivoted one of its Top Branches from a Horizontal Position to a Vertical Position and Turned this Branch into its main Trunk so that it could Carry On Growing. Its now Thriving and producing more and more Growth each year as though Nothing had even happened to it.

Trees are Truly Amazing.

Our Vision for Pinetum Peace is to have Plaques with each Tree with the Trees Name and Inspiring Stories of where they came from and Their Wonderful Journey of Growth.

We are also Documenting the Trees and will produce leaflets for people to read as they Leisurely Stroll around the Trees.

This is our Tree Collection in 2021.

Space is running out now, it must be time to move to Scotland.

They have Grown even Bigger now and the Trees have Outgrown the available space we currently have got.
We are trying to find the Right Place for our Pure Joy Retreat soon so we can give our Trees more Space to Grow and Plant them in the Ground so they can Spread their Roots and be Firmly Established in Their New Home.
