Whilst on holiday in Scotland we see lots of trees. All Created by God and all Beautiful. As we walked along Loch Tay we noticed some trees growing on the sand right next to the loch that didn’t seem to be growing very well. A few days later we walked to a waterfall where we noticed a Beautiful Big tree. It was Lovely and really flourishing. As we looked where it was growing from we saw that it was growing on top of a huge Rock. It amazed us how such a Big Beautiful tree could be growing so well on top of a rock.
It reminded us of the Bible verse (Mathew 7; 24-27, Jesus speaking) “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against the house; yet it did not fall, because it has its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against the house, and it fell with a great crash”.
If a Big Beautiful tree can Grow and Flourish with its Foundations on a Rock, then we should think about what the Foundations of our lives are Built upon.
If we Build our lives on the Foundational Rock that is Jesus, then we will Flourish into All that God has Created us to be.
